January 3, 2012: New models of pulsed fiber lasers offering 10 kW peak power at 2 micron
Tucson, Arizona. AdValue Photonics has recently launched two high power pulsed fiber lasers: 2 Micron High Power Q-Switched Fiber Laser and 2 Micron High Power Mode-Locked Fiber Laser. These lasers are developed to offer high peak power capabilities for LIDAR, mid-IR generation, frequency conversion, nonlinear optics investigations, spectroscopy, and material processing applications. Both models are capable of 10 kW peak power with single mode spatial profile. The Q-switched laser provides an average power of 2W, pulse width in the range of 20 to 50 nanoseconds depending on pulse repetition rate, and pulse energy as high as 200 uJ. The mode-locked laser provides an average power of 1W and pulse width at 3 to 4 picoseconds. These new fiber lasers have attracted significant interest, especially among the scientists and engineers working with mid-IR wavelength generation or applications. April 13, 2011: AdValue Photonics is awarded honorable mention for its entry " Micron Q-Switched Fiber Laser" to the 2011 CLEO/Laser Focus World Innovation Awards Program
TUCSON, Arizona. AdValue Photonics has been selected as an honorable mention winner for its entry, " Micron Q-Switched Fiber Laser," to the 2011 CLEO/Laser Focus World Innovation Awards Program, according to a press release by the CLEO2011 and Laser Focus World, April 12, 2011.
"Applied Research and Photonics, Inc. has been selected as the winner of this year's CLEO/Laser Focus World Innovation Award, according to the press release by the CLEO2011 and Laser Focus World. "The award recognizes the company "for the development of a highly sensitive, low-power terahertz scanning reflectometer capable of directly measuring both the concentration gradient and kinetics of permeation of an ingredient across the thickness of a substrate in real time and in a non-invasive fashion."

In addition to Applied Research and Photonics' winning entry, two other products will be recognized during the CLEO Plenary Session with honorable mentions:

  • AdValue Photonics, Inc. (VIDEO)
    2-Micron Q-Switched Fiber Laser
For the development of a 2 micron Q-switched fiber laser enabling novel applications in LIDAR, mid-IR wavelength generation, sensing, materials processing and more.
  • ID Quantique
Advanced System for Single Photon Detection
For the development of an InGaAs/InP-based photon counter for telecom wavelengths that will enable further developments in applications such as cryptography, single-photon source characterization and eye-safe LIDAR.

April 5, 2011: AdValue Photonics has moved into a new facility
Tucson, Arizona. AdValue Photonics has moved into an expanded facility with total area of 12,000 square feet. Effectively immediately, the new address is 3708 E. Columbia Street, Suite 100, Tucson, AZ 85714. The move is necessary due to the growth of the company's business experienced in 2010 as well as anticipated expansion in the next few years. AdValue Photonics is specialized in fiber lasers and related light sources/components in the spectral region of 2 micron. A series of new products launched in 2010 have received significant market attention and dramatically increased sales. The new facility will include fiber perform fabrication and drawing production, laser system and component manufacturing, R&D labs, and offices. The company's phone and fax numbers will remain unchanged.

February 23, 2011: AdValue Photonics introduced the world's first 2 micron Q-switched fiber laser
